going V

I'm going up the country, babe, don't you wanna go? I'm going up the country, babe, don't you wanna go? I'm going to some place where I've never been before.

I'm going, I'm going where the water tastes like wine. Well, I'm going where the water tastes like wine. We can jump in the water, stay drunk all the time.

I'm gonna leave this city, got to get away. I'm gonna leave this city, got to get away. All this fussing and fighting, man, you know I sure can't stay.

Now baby, pack your leaving trunk, you know we've got to leave today, Just exactly where we're going I cannot say, but We might even leave the USA, 'Cause there's a brand new game that I want to play.

No use of you runnin, or screamin and cryin, 'Cause you've got a home as long as I've got mine.

Note:
Maybe "I" is the aware self.
And "you", and "babe", is the conditioned self in samsara.
Maybe "some place i've never been before" is full awareness ...
where normal everyday things ("water") are fresh and new ("like wine"),
and the self can live in full awareness and peace ("get drunk all the time").
Maybe the "city" is the dukkha of samsara and the confusion of my mind.
And a "brand new game" is this new way of thinking and being.
Then my "running screaming crying" troubled mind and conditioned self always has a "home" in awareness, as long as i can maintain it.

Or maybe not :)

☆ This work is a commentary on the lyrics of the song "Going Up The Country", which in turn was based on "Bull Doze Blues" by black bluesman Henry Thomas 1928 ... performed by Canned Heat beginning 1968 ... and rocked out to in tree-planting crummies in the 70s by yours truly and crew.
